Kelsey Miller

Wealth Management Assistant

MY BIO

I am currently a Wealth Management Assistant with BDS Financial Network. I am training to become a Certified Financial Planner under Paul Miller’s mentorship. I am also Paul’s daughter. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to work closely with my father. I am learning from one of the most genuine, intelligent and empathetic individuals in the financial industry!

I attended Cleveland State University where I graduated Summa Cum Laude with my Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2017. I worked with Karpinski Engineering as a Mechanical Engineering Intern throughout college from 2013-2017. I was responsible for the engineering and design of buildings. I also performed cost estimation, energy conservation studies, energy modeling, life cycle cost analysis and LEED accreditation. Upon graduation, I continued to work at Karpinski Engineering as a Mechanical Engineer until the end of 2018.

In December of 2013, concurrently with college and my work at Karpinski, I enlisted in the Ohio Army National Guard as an Intelligence Analyst (35F). In 2017, I was selected to become a helicopter pilot and Warrant Officer within Army Aviation. In 2019, I completed Warrant Officer Candidate School (WOCS) and commissioned as a Warrant Officer in the Ohio Army National Guard. Shortly thereafter, I completed Army Flight School, which encompasses many courses to include: Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape Level C (SERE-C), Helicopter Over-Water Survival Training (H.O.S.T), Initial Entry Rotary Wing Training and Advanced Rotary Training in the Sikorsky Blackhawk Helicopter (UH-60M.) I hold an FAA instrument rating for helicopters, and I am qualified in the Lakota (UH-72) and Blackhawk (UH-60M) helicopters.

I was employed on active-duty with the Ohio Army National Guard from 2019-2021 as the unit’s Readiness and Training Officer. I acted as the Commander’s daily representative for all unit operations. I managed mobilization planning, pay, personnel and training functions relating to the welfare of 43 Soldiers and the unit’s mission capability. During this time, I was mobilized to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait as a helicopter pilot in support of Operation Spartan Shield and Operation Inherent Resolve. I am currently still commissioned with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2 (CW2) as a helicopter pilot in the Army National Guard.

I was raised in North Eastern Ohio, but I currently reside in Lincolnton, North Carolina with my wonderful boyfriend, Terry. I enjoy all things outdoors whether it be paddle boarding, hunting, golfing or flying. I also have a passion for fitness.
