Since entering the financial services industry in 1984, Ashok has committed himself to providing his clients with the very best financial planning services and advice. Thorough and innovative, Ashok targets the needs of business owners, professionals, and retirees. He focuses on estate planning, retirement management, and investment planning. Financial Advisor

Raj joined her husband, Ashok, in the business in 1998. Before joining BDS, she spent more than 20 years working in technology and management positions at Corning Glass Works and General Electric. For the last 15 years, she has immersed herself in her practice as a financial advisor at BDS. Raj specializes in comprehensive financial planning and retirement Iicome planning. As an Investment Advisor Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®, she focuses on simplifying complex financial concepts and to help clients make decisions. Raj has earned:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Pune, India
  • MBA from Case Western Reserve University

Raj serves the community through Solon Women’s Club. She also serves on the board of Ursuline College and chairs the Investment Committee.

Smita Samant, CFP®, CRC®, AIF®

Financial Advisor and Operations Manager

Smita left the banking industry in 2007 to join BDS Financial. Her experience as a branch manager prepared her to enter the role as operations manager. She has a BSc tech degree from the University of Bombay, India, and the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) certification. She is a Certified Retirement Counselor® (CRC®) and was also awarded the Accredited Investment Fiduciary®(AIF®) designation. Smita has obtained FINRA Series 6, 7, 26, 51, and 63 securities registrations (held through Commonwealth Financial Network®).

Smita has an Ohio variable annuities, life, and health insurance license. She is a Notary Public for the state of Ohio and a member of the Twinsburg Chamber of Commerce.

Smita is an Investment Advisor Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®, a Registered Investment Adviser.

Brenda Johnson, CFP®, PPC™

Financial Advisor

Brenda has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Ohio University with majors in human resources and business management. She enjoyed working in human resources at Swagelok before joining the BDS team in 2002. She rejoined BDS in 2012 as marketing coordinator where she planned educational seminars, shareholder meetings, and client appreciation events. In 2014, she transitioned into the financial advisory role.

Brenda has earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®)certification. She holds the FINRA Series 7 securities registration, as well as the Series 66 Uniform Combined Law Examination registration.

She has received the Professional Plan Consultant™ (PPC™) designation, which signifies specialized training on retirement plan management and administration and ERISA compliance. Attainment of the PPC credential demonstrates understanding of the six critical service issues plan sponsors face and how to address shortfalls.

Brenda is an Investment Advisor Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®, a Registered Investment Adviser.

Wendy Sturick

Client Services Associate

Wendy has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Almeda University. She is a Registered Assistant with Commonwealth Financial Network® and holds the FINRA Series 6 securities registration. Wendy has been with BDS Financial since 2004.

Cory Nutter, CFP®

Paraplanner and Client Services Associate

Cory has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Ashland University with a major in finance and a minor in economics. He joined BDS Financial in 2008 as an intern for three years. In August 2011, Cory accepted a full-time position as a client services associate and research assistant. He holds the FINRA Series 7 securities registration, as well as the Series 66 Uniform Combined State Law Examination registration. Cory has earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) certification.
